“Loving God, Learning His Word, Living for Christ, Leading Others to do Likewise”

Wisdom

Fear of the LORD is the foundation of true wisdom. All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom. Praise him forever!

Psalm 111:10 (NLT)

Knowledge is gained through education; however, wisdom is gained through experience.  Knowledge is received in the classroom; wisdom is gained on the field trip.  As the calendar moves forward and Covid 19 is not going away, we realize each day that a “new” reality is taking shape.  If we have ever needed the Wisdom of God to sift through the knowledge of man, it is now.  To whom do we listen; whom do we follow; whom do we trust?

One can be educated to teach children, but the effectiveness of teaching comes from the wisdom dispensed in that moment.  We can give our children knowledge on the effects of drinking alcohol, but they don’t embrace the wisdom in that advice without self-control and saying no to it.  The impact of Covid 19 on our children could never have been taught in the classroom, but the experience can provide opportunities for them to gain much wisdom and rich life experiences.  They can learn to “think outside the box”.  This experience can teach us all the “richer” meaning and purpose in life.

Persevering is a key attribute to survival.  Resilience and resolve are needed for survival and are products of true wisdom.  Ken Ham, President and CEO of Answers in Genesis penned these words to Moms and Dads: “

When I think of my father’s memorial service and the individual testimonies of each of his six children, I am reminded of the tremendous legacy he left us.  In different words and styles, each of us conveyed the same basic theme:  Dad always stood up for what he believed, he taught his children to love the Word of God, and he always insisted that the authority of God’s Word takes precedence over the fallible words of man.  His words, life and example demonstrated to me that the only foundation necessary to withstand life’s many storms is the knowledge of God through His Word.”

Every parent has access to God’s Wisdom through His Son Jesus Christ as told us in the Bible.    James 1:5 (NLT): If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. The Words of Jesus as told in Matthew 7:24-25 (NLT):

“Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock. 25 Though the rain comes in torrents and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won’t collapse because it is built on bedrock.”

Covid 19 or Coronovirus are not in the Holy Scripture; however, the Bible does speak of challenging times and God’s faithfulness in those times: And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him” Hebrews 11:6 (NLT).
