“Loving God, Learning His Word, Living for Christ, Leading Others to do Likewise”

Happy Easter

Easter, though pagan in origin, has become the Christian celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.  It is truly the cradle of the Christian Church.  If Jesus Christ has not risen from the dead then the Christian faith folds up like a house of cards.  If the archaeologist’s spade could uncover the body of Christ it would bury the Christian religion.

Well, Satan with all his worldly and other-worldly resources has not been able to produce the body of Christ and never will, because as the song lyrics so aptly proclaim, “He is Lord, He is Lord.  He is risen from the dead and He is Lord, every knee shall bow, every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord”

And what a wonderful time of year to celebrate the resurrection when all of nature seems to come alive from a wintry grave.  The trees and flowers that just a few weeks ago looked like dead men’s bones hear the voice of God in nature and burst forth in newness of life.

The birds build their nests to accommodate the new births, the butterflies break forth from their self-made coffins as brand new creatures no longer limited to the leaves, but destined for the skies… the whole of nature, following God’s design join together in a great picture of resurrection power.

God is in the Living business folks… this world is a testimony to his living presence and power.  Some anonymous author said: He left His autograph on every breeze that blows, every flower that grows, every river that flows, every star that glows… and he will write His name on your heart and mine if we will only yield to Him.   “Oh I’d like to tell you what I think of Jesus, for in Him I’ve found a friend so strong and true, I’d tell you how He changed my life completely… He did something that no other friend could do.  Amazing Grace How Sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me, I once was lost but now I’m found, I was blind but now I see…” (a quote from W. K. Ayres)

Because of what Jesus Christ has forgiven by way of the Cross, and has fulfilled by way of an empty tomb… we have the proof and promise of everlasting life with Him in heaven.

Prayer – Lord help us to realize that our sins have separated us from You but that Jesus on the Cross fulfilled your promise that though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Isaiah 1:18  Lord God bring us to a point of repentance and faith that we too like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. Romans 6:4

Thank you dear God for another Easter Celebration, and for each person reading this who has believed the truth of the gospel and been born again.  For those who have not made that decision yet, may this brief witness regarding the subject of the Resurrection help them understand their eternal future is at stake and may they become part of Your forever family at the earliest possible moment.   Amen.
